Bootmass

Boot metal as a service. Arm a machine, and it installs itself over the network with ZFS on root.

In development. Nothing has been released and there is nothing to download yet.

Consent first

A machine that has not been armed is never touched: it boots its own disk as if Bootmass were not there.

Images, not installs

A system is built once, tested, and received onto the disk as a golden image. The running system is a clone of it.

Roll back by rebooting

An update is a new clone beside the old one. Going back is choosing the old one at boot.

Bootmass is part of Zettarack, and is the first piece being built.
